School development priorities

1. Inclusion

To establish Paintbox Class for a small group of children with SEND. In Paintbox Class children will follow a curriculum that develops key skills so that they become ready to rejoin and thrive in their mainstream class.

2. Equalities

To make Wellington a place where everyone feels welcome and respected. To teach children how to stand against discrimination with respect, and to understand the importance of being an ‘ally’.

3. Leadership development

To ensure that children at Wellington are taught and cared for by the best staff. Staff who are well trained, have opportunities to progress in their career and are committed to our Wellington community and the values of the school.

School uniform

- Black jumper – it doesn’t have to have the school logo
- Black or grey trousers or skirt
- Plain black shoes or trainers, which fully enclose the foot
- White, blue, red, yellow or green polo shirt – these don’t have to have the school logo – or a checked summer dress
- No Crocs – they are not safe
- No jewellery – only a watch and stud earrings are safe
- We are asking for your support in improving school uniform.

Our school uniform shows we:
- belong at Wellington
- value learning
- are equal

It also helps older children prepare for secondary school, where uniform rules are very strict!

We are noticing more children wearing non-uniform items, including shoes, jumpers and cardigans in different colours, shirts instead of polo shirts and jewellery.

During this half-term please work towards your child being in the correct uniform.

Have you lost something? Check in the lost property box. We will hold an event where we give away unclaimed and donated items of uniform before the holiday.

Our aim is for all children to start the Spring term in full school uniform.

PE Kit

Remember your PE kit
- Purple t-shirt and black shorts or leggings
- Black trainers or plimsoles
- YR to Y4 – leave in school for half-term, in a drawstring bab
- Y5 and Y6 – wear PE kit on PE days
